Colours and samples

Choosing your colour

Colours change with the light and with what's around them. That's why we bring sample boards to your survey.

The colour families

Where most people start

  • Light grey and sand

Stays coolest in sun and brightens a small or shady garden.

  • Mid grey

The safe bet. Goes with brick, render and stone.

  • Brown

Warm, natural, and lovely next to planting.

  • Charcoal

Smart and modern, especially with black balustrades. Warmer underfoot in full sun.

Tips

A few things to think about

  • Which way the garden faces and how much sun it gets
  • The colour of your brick, render or stone
  • Your fence and any paving nearby
  • Dark boards warm up more in summer
  • Lighter boards show less dust and pollen
  • Two-tone borders can look great
